I’m a seasoned DesignOps and Design manager.

I've worked as a designer for most of my career, and in this time I've discovered what I'm really passionate about: Designing for designers.

What motivates me at work?
I love people, processes, optimization, and all things design. Having the chance to learn, create, and continuously improve keeps me motivated. And I do all this for my crew: Designers.

It's important to know what motivates people to do their best work, because happy teams ship great work faster. That’s why I take a relationship-first approach to my work. I prefer collaboration to conflict and excel at facilitating discussions to achieve the best outcomes.

What I do for organisations:

  • Standardise the tools and systems used to scope, resource, track, document and deliver projects.

  • Audit and define a structure for regular rituals and meetings.

  • Build repositories of user-research data that are accessible to everyone.

  • Manage team development through recruiting, onboarding new hires, and providing resources for skills development.

  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts for external providers by setting the scope of work, negotiating terms, and coordinating with the finance department.

  • Forecast and track budgets across projects, vendors, agencies, and freelancers.

  • Align headcount to roadmaps by thinking about resourcing and skills.

  • Organise special projects, recognition ceremonies, or other priorities with no natural owner.

  • Shape the design process by implementing protocols for communication and collaboration.

  • Create dedicated rituals, and spaces for designers to collaborate and catch up with other designers: crits, weekly status updates, all-hands and offsites.

  • Develop onboarding and offboarding protocols for new designers and design team members.

  • Set up programs to foster inspiration, collaboration, and continuous education: External speakers, lunch brown bags, coffee hours, field trips or design days.

  • Provide educational opportunities for the team according to skill gaps.

  • Track all design team expenses, and establish approval processes for expense requests.
